Perspective Version 4.5 is one of our most exciting releases yet. Our Development and Quality Engineering teams focused on feedback received from hundreds of Perspective users: participants in online training sessions, clients who called our Support team, members of our new client site (launched last year), and attendees at our annual Perspective Users’ Conference in St. Pete Beach, Florida. Whichever way you chose to reach out to us, you asked and we listened.
The general consensus was clear: is there a way to have more options for reporting and analyzing the information we put into Perspective? The answer is yes! We have streamlined data processes to make queries run faster, and tailored the output for your most crucial reports.
Version 4.5 includes a new section, Analyze and Report, with three features embedded within—Analysis Expert, pre-configured Reports, and our brand new Custom Reports section.
Starting with Analysis Expert, you now have more options than ever to organize and share the multitude of queries you’ve created to look at your data from all angles.
- Query categories let you group similar queries together.
- All-new criteria options give you the ability to create queries that automatically adjust their date ranges and set a specific range to share a very specific set of data.
- New sharing options allow you to grant specific users, or groups of users, access to queries that will benefit them most.
When working with query results, you now have new tools to handle the type of on-the-fly investigations most analysts like to do.
- With the pivot table and easy-to-use drag and drop grouping and aggregator option, you can arrange the data however you need.
- The Data Slicer allows you to quickly filter tables by the different values contained in your results.
- You can save multiple variations of these analysis models in order to easily switch back and forth to compare and spot key indicators. With one click, you can take this information and transform it into a chart or graph and visually tell the story of what you’ve discovered.
We didn’t stop there. Once that pattern is discovered and you are aware of a new trend and have a plan in place to address it, the Custom Reports section will allow you to easily monitor these trends to see the immediate effect that plan has had.
- Our embedded Custom Report designer gives you complete control over the layout of tables and charts, and you can add your own imagery and messaging to them.
- Organize and share these reports with the same new options that Analysis Expert has, allowing specific roles or users to review the same information for their teams and groups.
With this release, we are also introducing Perspective’s first ever built-in Mapping option. With Mapping, it is now easier than ever to visualize records by site and location in order to focus on specific areas and spot trends.
- Easily view all incidents and activities, as well as active dispatches (for clients using Perspective SOC or EIM editions) on a geospatial map.
- Filter your results by incident classification, activity category and priority, and dispatch status and priority. Then display comparative results across these event types and/or different time periods.
- Dig deeper into a record you see on the map. A single click opens the full record so that you can review the information and edit it as you go.
